Do the owners of the videos posted on Vimeo really make them private because they get a lot of hits from the members of this forum?
In the year of 2012 Vimeo boasted of 14 million members and with 650 million hits.
There are within Vimeo, countless groups dedicated to linking nude performances of which, have many followers – just a quick glance on 3 groups I usualy visit, have a combined total of 10,000 followers, who each get sent a link to a new video added to their groups page.. The followers then add them as a ‘like’ to their page, who in turn also have followers who add them to their page, ad infinitum.
Then there are also other forums similar to ours, dedicated to the naked form performing on the stage who also link to Vimeo.
So I ask, is it really necessary that we only post text links?
I say yes to new videos that are no older than 1 week. Videos, older than 1 week, with more than 10 ‘likes’ should have a hyperlink. Why? Apart from it probably having been viewed and ‘liked’ many times by Vimeo members and that the owner is aware of this and doesn’t make it private. But, I have noticed a couple of videos have been posted twice. This is maybe because people are not using the search engine to ascertain whether it has already been posted or, that the fact is the search engine does not pick up text urls – try searching for the last 5 videos posted on the Vimeo thread.
I have also noticed that people are not adding the videos title, just the text url! This also creates a problem when searching. Adding a title would not only help the search engine but, should it go private, it would then be searchable via other means with the possibility of finding it posted on another web site other than Vimeo.
