| The full story about proxies is rather complex (I certainly do not know it!) but the take home message is that you can cause your browser to send its requests to another computer, located in the country from which you which to download geoblocked content, which can then collect the content and pass it on to you. (which is sort of what your ISP does, in fact, so the ISP typically functions as a kind of default proxy, but you can put an additional one in the chain, or build conga-lines of proxies for attempted anonymity.
So the instructions I posted a while ago for using a proxy in firefox seemed rather complicated, but they're mostly a matter of chasing through menu items with various names until you get to a page where you enter two numbers (IP address and port), and tick a few checkboxes. 'Easy when you know how' (easier to do than to learn to do).
