Sally Rand is one of my vintage favourites. Her role in Bolero (1934) is very provocative for the time, and she even does the fan dance, but I suspect with a body stocking. She also does the bubble dance in Sunsent Murder Case (1938) (post-Heys-code) in a very flimsy short dress.

In one of life's bizarre co-incidences, I was reading a The Godfather's Revenge and they are at the World's Fair in the 1960s and it mentions how they'd cleaned up the acts! I nearly fell off my chair at the co-incidence!

This is an interesting one for vintage buffs.

The New York World's Fair 1939 seemed to have tons of burlesque, and nude acts despite being USA in the 1930s and being a family tourist world famous event.

It's hard to tell if this was actually normal for the time, but no one seems to be batting an eyelid.
